How a Devon drone video shoot works

1. Enquiry and brief

You tell me what you need to show in the video, where it will be used and any must‑have shots. We’ll discuss duration, style (for example, a smooth overview or more detailed sequences) and how aerial clips will sit alongside any ground‑based content.

2. Planning and permissions

 I check the location for airspace restrictions, agree launch areas and flight paths, and obtain any permissions required. If a particular move or height isn’t possible under UK drone regulations, I’ll explain why and suggest safe alternatives.

3. On‑site flying and filming

On the day I work efficiently and safely, capturing a range of smooth, stable footage while keeping disruption to a minimum. Where practical we can review key shots on site to make sure we’ve covered everything important.

4. Editing and delivery

After the shoot, I review and select the strongest aerial footage, then apply colour correction and basic finishing to the agreed clips. Clips are supplied as downloadable files in suitable formats for websites, social media and presentations.

If you have booked a finished film, I will edit the footage into an agreed sequence with pacing, titles and licensed music where required. The finished length, delivery format and timescale will be confirmed in advance.

Safety & compliance

I am a fully insured and experienced drone operator, using professional DJI equipment selected to suit the location and brief. All flights are planned to comply with UK drone regulations, taking account of airspace restrictions, site conditions and local requirements. If a proposed flight is not possible for safety or legal reasons, I will explain the options and suggest suitable alternatives. Proof of insurance can be supplied if required by a venue or organisation.

Travel and flight conditions

Travel within a reasonable distance of Honiton is included. For more distant locations, multiple sites, parking, tolls, ferries, permits, accommodation or other agreed direct costs, I will confirm any additional charge in advance.

Drone work is subject to suitable weather, safe flying conditions, airspace restrictions, site access and landowner permission where required. If a flight cannot be completed safely during a planned visit, I will discuss the available options before arranging any further work.
